Following the breakdown of talks yesterday, the Histadrut - Israel’s national trade union centre - is today turning to the courts to permit to hold a general strike in support of the fight against precarious work.  According to this report on the Histadrut website, at a meeting held between Finance Ministry representatives and the trade union leaders in the Histadrut’s Tel Aviv offices, the government officials refused to back down from their insistence on using temporary labourers for cleaning and other jobs.
