The Histadrut, Israel’s national trade union center, today announced that it has organized workers at the electronics retailer ‘Machsanei Cheshmal’.
The company employs some 670 workers in 23 stores around the country.
The union has called on management to open negotiations on terms and conditions of employment aiming to reach a collective agreement.
It has also warned management regarding allegations by some works that pressure is being put upon them to withdraw their membership in the Histadrut.
This is a breakthrough for Israeli unions as the retail electronics sector has not been unionized before.
