Parliamentary aides in Israel, as in other countries, often work long hours for little pay. This week, aides to members of the Knesset, Israel’s parliament, announced that they had formed a trade union affiliated to the Histadrut, the country’s national trade union centre, and were keen to open negotiations with their employer over terms and conditions of employment.
